Marcela was born and raised in Colombia and moved to Vancouver in 2009 to pursue her passion for design at Emily Carr University. A year after graduating from the Industrial Design program in 2015, Marcela moved to Ottawa where she still resides to this day. In her work, Marcela draws inspiration from all of her travels as well as her diverse background. She finds beauty in her surroundings and maintains a deep appreciation of nature, culture and architecture. She is also inspired by her mother, who was an architect, and has cultivated a passion for design, creativity and attention to detail from a very young age.
